Compaq Presario 4010f

Now that Acer has overtaken Dell as the second largest computer maker in the world, HP is minding its own business atop the tablet. Things look and are good for HP, and the company did a surprising thing once again: they’ve unveiled a bunch of uber-cheap laptops, and by uber-cheap I mean notebooks at prices of netbooks. Personally, I think that we’re facing the dawn of the netbook age which was last year and we’re heading towards the tablet age. However, laptops / notebooks will always remain laptops / notebooks, and HP knows thatHP introduced the Compaq CQ61Z notebook which features a 15.6-inch LCD screen, AMD Sempron processor, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, integrated Nvidia graphics, a CD/DVD burner, and Windows 7 Home Premium all for the small price of $399. On the other hand, HP is using the Compaq branding for a cheap desktop PC called Compaq Presario 4010F which comes packed with integrated Nvidia graphics, 250GB HDD, and Windows 7 Home Premium all for the price of $309 after a MIR of $100.

Both the Compaq CQ61Z and Compaq Presario 4010F will become available as of October 22, when Windows 7 will finally be launched. If the Windows Mobile 6.5 launch wasn’t a hit, Microsoft will hope that the Windows 7 launch one week from now will be a total success.
